First day of selling computers, ouch…

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Yesterday was my first day to sell computers for our company (through the phone, inbound). This was for our transition before we go to full production (for our batch). But sadly, I wasn’t able to sell any. I received 7 calls (for a 4 hour period) and none of them bought (1 ghost call, 2 should be transfered to other department, 3 inquiries, 1 that was going to buy except that the previous agent he was talking with called him).

Well, I have to make a sale today (exceed the goals since I was zero yesterday) so I won’t have any problems.

Lord, please help.

Call Certification….

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Technicall, we finished our training today (well yesterday). We had our call certification yesterday (wasn’t able to finish all trainees so it was continued today.

When it was my turn. I am a bit shaky. And when I sat on the station, the phone rang and answered the call of the certifier, I was nervous. At first everything was okay. But then, the tools we’re using (since we are using training version of the tool - a bit buggy), got some problems (that never happens on the actual tool we’re using. And since almost everything is dependent on the tool (scripts, configuration, prices), I was a bit lost. I forgot some things.

I felt that call was bad. But I hope I would pass. The person who certified me was my trainor in batch 5 (which I wasn’t able to finish). I felt very bad for that since I supposedly had more training than the others.

I wasn’t able to talk to him yet. So I don’t know his reaction regarding that call.

Well, we already had our graduation and our trainer said we’re all going to take in calls next week. So I assume that I passed.

Anyways, Soli Deo Gloria…

Eating disorder…

I am having an eating disorder. This happens whenever I am upset or depressed (which I am now).

Have to fight it or I’ll gain too much weight again.

Father’s Day….

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Fathers’ Day, a special day dedicated for fathers. Celebrated every third Sunday of June (in most countries). And on this day, many fathers are very happy.

Well, I’m not. Supposedly it was all well. Left the office at 6:30 in the morning, went straight to the church (8:00am), went home at 11:00am. My wife had a small accident (she sprained her ankle while we are walking home from church). But it’s not a problem.

Evening, that’s when it all went bad. It made me realize an on-going problem I always tried to think it isn’t a problem at all. I have lost something. It is not a material thing, but my rights.

Bad thing is, nobody wants to listen.

Happy Fathers’ Day to all of you.

60 Years of Ministry via the Radio..

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC Philippines) celebrated its 60th year of ministry via radio here in the Philippines yesterday, June 7, 2008. FEBC had ministried to thousands of Filipinos via the message of God through the airwaves. FEBC broadcasts different AM stations in the Philippines in different dialects. And its Luzon station, 702 DZAS can be heard also through the internet via www.febc.ph.

FEBC had ministered to thousands of people via the Good News. FEBC’s programs contain devotions, messages, prayers, music, tips for living (household, work, family, parenting, school, etc.), music. Their programs are very holistic, funny, serious, informative, challenging, inspiring, uplifting and filled with the Word of God. I myself was one of the person who was encouraged and blessed by God through this station.

FEBC is a non-commercial company. It’s finances comes from donations and missionaries. They faced many difficulties. Sometimes they were on the merge of completely “signing off” due to financial concerns. But the Lord sustained them for 60 years now. God sustained them because many people learned about Christ through their stations. Many people were encouraged back to faith because of the messages brought to the airwaves.

“Christ to the world by radio” - this their slogan, and indeed, Christ is brought to many people were reached by the Gospel through this station.

God bless them and more power.

The First Joomla! Day Philippines

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

Yeah, Joomla!, one of the world’s best Content Management System (CMS), will be conducting it’s first ever Joomla! Day Event in the Philippines.

Too bad I heard about the news late, and due to overwhelming response (I just realized that there are a “lot” of Joomla! users in the Philippines), the registration is already closed.

I hope there will be another event soon after this one. I really need to learn Joomla! cause I’m planning to use it for our church website (and some other projects)..

Cheers…

Hospitalized….

Friday, June 6th, 2008

May 27, while going to work, I felt different. The following day, I am having a terrible headache, body pain and my body is shaking. I went to the clinic and they gave me some pain reliever. I went home feeling not well. As soon as I got home, I went to sleep (that was around 9 in the morning). When my wife came from work (noon time), my fever was high and I can’t eat, nor get up from bed (extreme headache and dizziness). Afternoon, I tried to prepare to go to work (training actually). But headache and dizziness, and vomiting stopped me (and my wife also).

Day after that, I felt worse. Friday, May 30, I went to the doctor for check up. As laboratory results came out, I was diagnosed to have Urinary Track Infection and very low blood platelet count. The doctor advised me to return the following day for another blood test. If my platelet count would drop, I would be confined for dengue. That evening, since I feel very week for not eating for 3 days, I decided to go to the hospital for confinement. We came to the hospital, they checked my blood and admitted me for possible dengue. The following day, it was confirmed that I have dengue.

I was confined until June 4. Eating just very little (almost nothing except water I drink and IV fluids running in my arteries.

I missed half of my training, and I don’t know what awaits me when I return to work..

Anyway, I am out of the hospital now. And I thank God for the healing. I also thank God for my wife who stayed beside me during those times I am very weak physically and during my hospital days.

I am still feeling weak, I lost almost 16 kilos in one week. But God is renewing my strength.

Soli Deo Gloria.
