I am not talking about chocolates here. Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to meet a friend from college I haven’t met for a few years (though we were communicating through chat). He invited me to speak in one of their Worship Ministry Night (it is like a service for their worship team every first Sunday of the Month).
I am happy that God used me in their church that night.

Yes, I am tired.
I work in a call center, my shift starts at 11:00pm manila time (9am CST).
My travel from home to work is approximately 1 and 1/2 upto 2 hours. Same with going home.
I work 8 hours (night shift) plus 30 minutes overtime (sometimes, depending on the volume of calls).
I am away from home at least 12 hours (2 way travel and work).
Upon getting home from work (of course tired and sleepy), I have to take care of my baby for at least 2 hours until my wife comes from work (she’s a preschool teacher).
So, I will go to sleep at around 12:30 or 1:00 pm. Then, I have to wake up at 7pm to prepare for work, leave house at 8pm, arrive at workplace at around 10pm… which would make my total time spent away from home 13 hours.
I work from Monday evening to Saturday morning… every weekends, I try to spend time with my family. Sunday morning, church.
That’s why I’m physically tired, mentally exhausted, but my heart is happy…

It’s hard…
I am planning to start a home business, but I have lots of problem with it (usual problems people have when starting a small business).
First of all is, what kind of business should I establish. I haven’t yet surveyed my place for any info on what our community might need.
Next is budget. This will depend on the first one.

All of these are just wishes, though I am planning to acquire some of these, I’m not sure if I could get all of these. Some of these (almost all) are just luxury for me.

What happened?
I was going to updgrade wordpress (the one that powers this blog). Too bad for me, I didn’t follow the instructions for upgrade. Well, I thought I did follow the upgrade instructions, but maybe I missed some part that caused this.
When I uploaded the files and tried to run the upgrade script, the page was blank. Tried to enter the back end (admin area), but still blank. I tried the homepage and it is working. Can’t add any post and I can’t manage my site. I asked some help from a blogger that also uses wordpress, but still no go.
I think the problem is with my webhost…
I didn’t know (cause I didn’t check it) that they are upgrading their mysql servers. I am not sure the cause. It is just marvincruz.com that is not working.
I’ll wait for the upgrade to finish and try to fix the problem. Or worst case, I may have to start my blog again from scratch (I have a back up of the mysql databse for my site and some files, I think I could use those for restore…?).
Anyways, I am back to blogging.

I already consulted 4 doctors. One of them checked me thrice. I took cough medicine with low dose antibiotics. Nothing happened. Then I took a high dose antibiotics. Still nothing happened. I am still coughing. I already made 5 absences (3 last week) so I could have a rest. But still I am coughing. I already had 2 chest x ray but all is clear. I am irritated. I work in a contact center and my work is affected (I talk the whole shift). My family is also affected.
Please pray for my health. I am really having a hard time with this cough. It’s been 5 weeks now.
At last, after three agonizing days of troubleshooting, calling and talking to customer service of my ISP, at last, I am on line.
As it turnd out, the canopy that was first installed for my wireless internet was defective. But the person that installed it said that the problem was with the substation. I called in five times before I got an assurance that someone will come to my place to fix it. It was after I show irritation for the type of service that I have.
Then, the tech came at 6pm (Manila Time) and I would be going to work at 7:30. Thankfully, they were able to fix it within an hour. I wasn’t able to benchmark the connection coz I have to go to work. But based on my initial test (using speedtest.net my download speed is 288kbps and upload is 168 kbps. My ISP says they have 384kbps for my service (it’s not broadband, but it’s the best that i can get).
I think it’s okay. But I’ll be testing the connection on following days so i could know if it’s consistent.
At least now, I am on-line….
Yeah, it’s weekend… at last. After a whole weeks work, it’s time to take a rest.
Ironically, my rest is - go to inquire regarding internet service, go to the mall to buy gifts and stuff for the coming Christmas, finish the installation of our home PC, go to Church, and have a lot of time with my family. It’s a hectic weekend, but it’s enjoying for me.
Does everyone has the same weekends as mine?
